He reminds me SO MUCH of Eric Strauss. I'm thinking he's probably very similar in terms of E-configuration but probably his...Quasi-identical?
I'm thinking sp/so 9w8(8w7)-7w6(8w7)-3w4(2w3?) TeNi, or maybe TeSi.

You think this protoplasmic schlub is my mirror or Deeya Kahn's identical? And he was always the same.Seems SiFe in SeFi. Eric's rotating shadow dual.

wiki articleFinegold was born in Detroit, Michigan into a chess family, the son of chess master Ron Finegold and his wife Rita. Stuart Rachels says when he was twelve he saw Ben Finegold and his father Ron hustling in a chess club at Manhattan, offering 8-1 money bets on one-minute-per-player bullet games.[2]Finegold graduated high school in June 1986 at the age of 16. Afterward, he moved to Columbus, Ohio to pursue chess.[3]CareerFinegold said he had played in hundreds of tournament games a year when he was young: "I loved chess and if I lost it did not matter to me. That's the main thing you have to do to get better at chess - if you lose hundreds of games in a row, that's OK".[4]
Comfort machine, followed his father, sat in a chair and worked out his Ti web without worrying about consequences, creature of habit, also taking out his aggressions in the game. Path of least (and most) resistance. Si dom, Te PolR. Without the family he had, probably would not have gotten involved in chess. With the family he had, someone possibly was spared being victim of fugue state murder.

To be fair, he is gamma-ish in his barking mode but he's fundamentally so hazy. And soooo...embodied. But I really don't think it can go the other way around (SeFi in shadow SiFe), despite his pointing now and then, and I can't see what else it could be. If I'm right the lesson here is chess is way Ti > Te and a passion for an agenda can overshadow the first two functions (not to mention it's often very hard to see the PolR in SiFe).

He sort of has the vibe of a pederast priest who drinks way too much coffee.

Yes, i think that's exactly right.
And those two are both very very heavy on the 4th, with massive peacocking.
Trying to be / pretending to be their own duals. So they kindof meet together in the middle, and that's in large part why they are so similar.

Yes indeed. This is Te polr under Si frame with shadow Se. Forceful stubborness with zero care for efficiency or effectiveness.
Memorizing thousands of games until they are completely and fully ingrained.
His lessons actually an almost nauseating feeling of Si overhelm quite fast. Even if i don't even try to follow him. It's very very Si heavy.
Yep. That sounds absolutely right to me.

Yes i agree.
If he was SeFi in SiFe he wouldn't bark so much. He would "barrage" instead.
His pointing is not inconsistent with Te polr imo, especially at this level of health, and with such a strong (and highly specialized) agenda, his Te polr is bound to have frequent counterphobic swings.

tbh I really underestimated just how Si chess is, or anyway can be. All that memorization, riiiight...it really tends more to Ti/Si than Te. Though Kasparov does seem TeNi (though so does the physicist Richard Feynman and both he and Kasparov are seen as exceptions to the rule). But Ben Feingold being in shadow mode makes him relentlessly competitive and abrasive (which has some similarities with TeNi competitors) while still essentially maintaining the Si frame high tolerance for sluggish sedentary monotony. Schlub was le mot juste.

ps I had a chess hustler in my wayward youth! One of my two ltr SeTi's. "Willy". Not a grand master. We did rent a room for a while from Grand master Pal Benko though. We hung out a lot with Shelby Lyman. This was in the mid 80s. Shelby wanted to go out with me after I broke up with Willy. What the wiki article doesn't say straightaway is that the World Chess championship Shelby hosted on PBS was Fisher Spassky. I see Pal and Shelby both passed recently, very close in time. The wonders of modern technology.

pps Also due to the wonders of modern technology Willy reaches out to me now and again across the decades and the waters of deportation to try to rekindle the semi-dool flame.
