(EDIT: 9/30/2020 Interesting to see how far I've come TeSi is a horrible ct for Tim Black. And so we walk and stumble and crawl and walk...toddleringly).ENFJ? He's a lot softer than MLK but I can't think what else he could be. He does not seem dank enough to be Gamma. Also his softness may be a question of style, and he feels like my supervisor. I would obey him happily. He would set me on the right path. edit: oh wait....ESTP???...Does not seem to have the Ti for SeTi but he's actually VERY logically cohesive and easily Te demonstrative...so Se Ti Fe Ni Si Te Fi Ne He doesn't really seem Fi polr but then he isn't Si ignoring either; but rather he really does seem like he chooses NOT to ignore Si very effectively, so he could be a polr is power person. He's very healthy. But when I compare him to the two likely ESTP boyfriends he's so much more buoyant...of course they were/are both nuts... (EDIT: ahem...) I guess ESTJ is also possible? TeSiNeFi TiSeNiFe That might make the most sense of all. I will go with ESTJ. Yeah he should be J.

I gotta say Tulsi freaks him out. He tries very hard to be supportive but she freaks him out. He gets very uncomfortable with the unexpected things she does. He says they confuse him. He thinks very much out of the box WITHIN his box but he doesn't get Tulsi's long game AT ALL. It COULD easily be Ni polr, I THINK. He's very open-minded, VERY, until it involves seeing choices that are because of weak points in the suspension bridge, and because of them ONLY. Options in service of the 'dark matter' seem to scare him.
He's not a master of paradox or the sacred either.

Energetically he has to be an interfacer dom. And my initial vibe guess was also ENFJ. And i get the feeling that he would be able to keep interfacing this way regardless of his own emotional state (which fits Fi ignoring a lot more than Fi inf. ENTJs and ESTJs would "sulk" when they don't feel like it, and i have the impression this guy really wouldn't.)
Your readiness to be supervised is something that we definetely should not ignore (Ni dom are rarely supervised, and when they feel like they are, there is a strong reason behind it).
Being freaked out by Tulsi isn't really a counter-argument against ENFJ. Duals freak out each other on a regular basis precisely because they are duals.
The real issue would be what you said about Ni. But i wonder : is it really "low Ni" or Ni in an instrumental/non-absolute slot ?

Also, my conflictor radar isn't ringing at all, despite the "campaign clip" format. I guess it could be because of his health level, but still.

I see Tim Black as a strong, righteous person who asks all the right questions and does his utmost best to find the right answers. He is unwilling to compromise his values for personal gain and always has the good of all of us in mind. He is a person of action propelled by true values and he is fiercely independent but yielding, bending like a willow tree but never breaking, and while righteous, never self-righteous. He is also very warm and just plain nice.
A person of action but never just for the sake of action. He seems like the kind of person who if I said I don't know what to do about (Person X) he wouldn't see it as a rhetorical question. He would lay down the options and get me to come up with and stick to a plan, a good plan. And he would check to make sure I followed it and would yell at me and insult me with good humor if I didn't follow through, and that would motivate me to get back to work so I could be pleasing in his eyes.
I would want him to see I was doing things of value for others without becoming a doormat myself. That I was strong, and useful, and good. Like him.

It's very unlikely that you would describe and feel that way for an ESTJ. You would spot the Ne hidden agenda and Se shadow agenda.
ESFJ isn't an option either, for the same reason.
My money is still on ENFJ. Yes lots of them are colder, and not that soft. But counterphobic Si ones can be that soft. Easily.

Tim Black was in a FOUL mood for this one and it was probably because he was bitter over the coopting of Martin Luther King Day (yesterday was an official holiday in most states and this came from a live chat where first he bitched about that). But I think the specific perfidious idiocy of the NYT double endorsement unsettled him TOO. In any case he seems less 'on', and more 'weighty', a bit more MLK-ish than usual himself. FAR from a dead ringer but a bit more. vincent The first few minutes captures the general feel that goes in and out vincent.
