What are the differences? What are the similarities?

Illustration of Ti abstraction - Formalistic, a web of intersecting and interconnecting logical axioms and principles, essences (which is Ji in general) and Forms (static, eternal things that are necessarily true and objectively exist beyond the spatiotemporal realm).
Questions a Ti person would ask (in this context and field):
1. What is the nature of a number? 2. What makes a number real or unreal? 3. What makes a number rational or irrational? 4. What does our knowledge of mathematics reveal? What is it about?

Oh, the suspense of waiting to see what your first exemplars will be for Ni and Ne, adrian.

"Abstract is from a Latin word meaning "pulled away, detached," and the basic idea is of something detached from physical, or concrete, reality."--generic google coughed up definition.
Don't really know that Ni as frame abstracts 'per se'. As pole with Se it can't not be involved with 'concrete reality', but it is like pre-concretization. There isn't anything to abstract from, only to move toward. That process happens very differently depending on whether NiFe or NiTe. When the Ni is instrumental second, then can be said to 'abstract' because it will pull out or detach what is or seems to be 'essential' from first slot, Te or Fe. And so on with other slot placements. But Ni frame is pre-concretization.
I do think Ti as frame abstracts as base metabolism and I call TiNe The Great Abstractor.
