We are in the process of dissolving the advanced private forum that has been by invitation only, and merging it with the general private forum that's for all regular participating members. But don't be surprised if you see old threads from the advanced private forum from as early as 2015 popping up in the Public Forum too. We also heartily encourage you to at least follow the Book Club discussion of "Maps of Meaning" that will be taking off very soon by watching the Peterson video lectures on the book linked on that thread. The new thread on Jung and cognitive typology in the Study Hall also has some relationship to this.

Since the general members and the by invitation board private boards are being merged and the use of this merged board will be encouraged, there isn't any need for the Building section. Threads just for learning or which are felt to be too personal for the general public, aren't about typology and related topics, or obstreperously go against the systems we're using can all go into the general private section.
So the Building section has been demolished after all, but a separate subboard for building up knowledge for people relatively new to one of the typology systems may pop up in the general private forum.

So now we have only one private section that's open to all members who join the forum. Continued access to it will be contingent upon general participation. You can use the private section for anything you don't want to be public for whatever reason. You can also use it to make 'parallel threads' if you're newer to ct or E. and you want to follow along with a public thread and get help as a learner. Also, the book club is now a subboard of Related Topics in the public section. Revised forum guidelines will be coming soon. adrian, ahmed, Amy, anthony, @ash, hiddenglass, jastyne, winter

Continued access to it will be contingent upon general participation. There was always only one private section, by invitation, until recently, when a general private section for all members was requested by a new member who was reluctant to post some things publicly. Now that the two private sections have been merged (except for some threads being made public or 'archived'), all new (and other) members have contingent access to the private section. The "general participation" it's contingent on isn't the minimum specified for membership-- acknowledging significant posts by liking them*. It's what it's always been, active participation. This should be obvious but I'm saying it anyway. *which is going to change in the forthcoming guidelines. I just haven't settled on how to phrase it yet.

ps I also want to be very clear that you can't just assess your own participation in relation to other members' because you have no way of being sure you know what's going on with them and what's been discussed between them and admin. Feel free to ask, though, it's only fair, but there can't be a one size fits all rule.

Several important typing discussions have been opened: in ct Peterson and his meaning maps, al-Ghazali, and Konstantin Kisin. In E, Katherine Anne Porter and Iona Italia in the ongoing 4/2 explorations. These typing discussions cover a lot more than just the typees and their types (including impacting on board members' types directly). I'd say a good litmus test for whether or not board membership is for you is if none of them grab you it's not, and if you feel you'll have nothing to contribute to any of them you really could just be reading.
