He's running for Congress in my district again after losing last time to the long-standing Dem incumbent. He was inspired by Sanders but then did stuff like campaigning on dating sites as I recall. Have to check details as this is a public board. The dream never dies, not of him winning, not of me going through my old emails--and there he was again. I've never really heard him speak before but from photos (and that one tidbit) he always struck me as a colossal 3w4. So far so good.

Don't forget to click on the red word in paragraph 4. www.surajpatel.nyc/about-surajI think he may be 3w4-7w8-1w2. It may be 7w6, depending on the stacking.

I got this email from him in June, called "A Huge Announcement"
5 Borough Future An Arena Project
Friends,
We’re so excited to announce a bold new initiative from The Arena to help usher a new era of politics in New York City. At its core, the program will recruit, train, and equip the next generation of bold reformers to lead New York. Those candidates will have adhere [sic] to a platform that’s laser focused on Democratic reform, getting corporate money out of politics, and electing candidates who are beholden to the people rather than the machine.
Why?
Because nine million New York City residents find themselves at the mercy of one of the most corrupt state governments in the country, a hostile White House, and local politicians captured by machine politics, special interests, and their own ambitions for the next job. As a result, our city suffers. Our schools remain hopelessly segregated, our neighborhoods are increasingly unaffordable, and our transportation system is falling apart.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Over the next few years, we have the opportunity to elect leaders commensurate with the talent and ambition of this city, leaders who can make New York City a place where the most vulnerable among us can flourish. Leaders who will work to increase the autonomy of New York City from Albany and to reform government at both a state and local level.
The new project, called the Five Borough Future (5BF) will recruit, train, and support the next generation of New York City leaders. We’re kickstarting the initiative with a six-month fellowship, a policy platform, and a NYC-based Arena Academy.
Join one of Five Borough Future initiatives below, or sign up to learn more on their website: fiveboroughfuture.com.
Part 1: Fellowship
Arena is launching a Five Borough Future Fellowship for New York City’s emerging civic leaders. This six-month program will bring together activists, non-profit leaders, and aspiring political candidates from all five boroughs. Applications are now open for New Yorkers. Learn more and apply here: fiveboroughfuture.com/fellowship-nyc
Part 2: Academy
Arena PAC will hold a condensed Arena Academy in New York for aspiring candidates and campaign staff from August 8th to 10th. The Academy, Arena’s third, will equip attendees with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to build winning campaigns and movements. Applications are now open. Learn more and apply here: fiveboroughfuture.com/academy-nyc
Part 3: Platform
The Five Borough Future platform is an articulation of policies most likely to improve the lives of New Yorkers. Our main audience for this platform is candidates from New York City who plan to run for state legislature in 2020 and New York City Council and Mayor in 2021, but concerned citizens of every stripe may find this helpful. Read more here: fiveboroughfuture.com/policy-platform
If you agree that it’s time for change in New York City, join with us and Five Borough Future as we push for new leaders and new ideas.
Thank you,
Suraj Patel

I've mentioned I don't really want to go into new typings until we work more on what's unfinished, and mostly I'm putting up placeholder threads that pop up as I clean out my old emails. But Suraj Patel and his cohorts seem to be doing something new with politics. The Arena is new. He seems to be hybridizing Sanders' pre-neoliberal Progressive politics with the high gloss neoliberal soft tools of the sort that made Adolph Reed call Obama a 'neoliberal confection'. These they democratize, since the Matrix belongs to everyone and many things that were not free now are.
Patel is almost certain to be 3w4 finger on the pulse Trend Radar (like Bowie, Warhol, and 3w4 close second Steve Jobs), reconfiguring chosen elements of the social and aesthetic Zeitgeist into something new that ushers in, or is part of ushering in, a new era. When Patel and his campaign decided to try using the dating sites to campaign, this seemed sleazy to me but it wasn't anywhere near as simple as that.
Patel and the Arena people are being open about what formerly happened behind closed doors, including 'schmoozing' and 'grooming'. Patel realizes the public/private distinction no longer applies to politics and he's making this sow's ear into a silk purse, because image-making, 'being your image' is the water he swims in.

This lawyer is very close to the same typing with 7 leading; may be 3w2 though.
