Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks. You brought me something. We both know what memories can bring. They bring diamonds and rust.

Fellini's stamp is also all over Bob Dylan, and Dylan particularly references La Dolce Vita (which, damn, i still need to watch) in Motorpsycho Nitemare. Funny, I had somehow missed this post and didn't even know it was up when I posted this. (Dylan's a screechingly obvious emblematic 6 who's always been typed as 4 or 5 by 'teachers' who think they have a 4 or 5 fix and use 6 --and some other types--as a spittoon for their despised narcissistic traits, yanno 'not a 'creative genius' like they are ).a 4 or a 5 huh

Just two more days kiddo and you will be done (for now) and, if all goes well, in 12 days you'll finally go through that bureaucratic hell and get things ready for uni.
They left calculus for last.. how nice of them. I should probably take it from baby me and chillax for a bit but...well, I have done a tad bit too much of nothing this whole school-year....hopefully i don't end up stuck with law.

I ended up going to Giza to check on assessments related to the film institute applicants last Tuesday. a 3 hour trip in the egyptian metro from where I live & some 40 mins on foot journeying discovering the place with all the craze that comes with it & I was...a tad bit too early to what i wanted to be there for. Also, the bookstore that sells the old assessment papers was apparently closed that day. That was neat. I should've went and visited the pyramids while at it, although pyramids + 40C in the afternoon doesn't sound like a smart idea. BUT bought a couple of books tho. One of them has birds in its title

I guess they're both related to this ahmed "The title is taken directly from the Qur’an, 27:16, where Sulayman (Solomon) and Dāwūd (David) are said to have been taught the language, or speech, of the birds (manṭiq al-ṭayr)".--wiki though only Attar used 'mantis'. I wonder if there are any others, if this is a tradition.

I wonder if there are any others, if this is a tradition. I've come across one more by Avicenna. I don't know how much they'd differ "content-wise" but I'd guess Avicenna's one might have more "anti-embodiment" sentiments than either Attar & Al Ghazali. and would focus more on the individuality of the one getting unveiled than a "flock" being guided through since Avicenna wasn't part of any sufi turuq.
